Introduction to Painting for Beginners: Color, Mindset, and Emotions
This course of 3 classes was built for people with zero or little prior experience. The goal of this course is to develop a strong foundation in painting.
Class 1: Introduction to color theory, understanding the color spectrum, warm and cold colors, complementary colors. Learn the proper way to organize your palette, learning & practicing mixing colors, developing brush strokes, connection and interaction of colors.
Class 2 and 3: A deeper explanation of color theory. Learn about important principles of value, hue, saturation. Learn about primitive/basic and complex/earth colors and how and where to use them in practice. We will go through a few painting exercises for a deeper understanding of those concepts.
Class 4 and 5: Introduction to the history of abstract art. Develop the skills to work your way from idea to finished project. Planning, designing a color scheme, finding a style.
Students will have the option to complete their artwork after each class is completed, and to send it to the instructor for feedback and critique at any point.
Age groups: 8-12, 13-18, adults
Supplies: mixed-media paper, brushes, gouache paint. A more detailed supply list will be provided for students upon registration.

Drawing for Beginners
This course was designed as an introduction to mastering fundamental drawing skills.
Class 1: Learn how to create proper pencils strokes, gain control over your hand movement and develop better small motor skills .
Work on numerous exercises.
Class 2: Learn how to draw sphere and how to work with gradation for developing 3 dimensional objects.
Class 3: Learn basic composition rules for drawing a small still life. Learn how to draw cylinder, cone, and ovals.
Class 3, 4, and 5: Working on still life. Learn how to develop relationships and connections between still life objects, how to build light and shadows, using knowledge of optical illusions for drawing better 3D objects.

Introduction to Oil Painting
Prerequisite: “Introduction to Painting for Beginners”, for Palette Art Studio students who have worked with gouache and would like to begin learning oil painting, or for adults who would like to start with oil.
In this course of four classes, we will learn how to apply traditional skills, techniques, and theories with an experimental approach.
Class 1: Learn basic concepts of color theory. Learn how to set up your palette, how to mix colors, and how to use different brush strokes which are suitable for oil.
Class 2: Learn how to apply fundamental painting principles such as value, hue, saturation , primitive and earth colors in oil. During the first two classes we will work on a few exercises on small canvases.
Class 3 and 4: Painting a 3D object as a small still life. Learn how to plan out your painting and how to apply important composition rules, and color principles.
Class 5: We will complete the work with the second layer and finishing details.

Landscape Sketching for Beginners
This course of 5 classes is designed for children and adults.. We will walk you through the essential steps of how to produce lovely sketches of the surrounding world.
1) Introduction to the art of sketching. Revealing 3 principles of successful sketching: making a choice, understanding composition, and what drawing styles and skills can be employed for this type of creativity.
2) We will learn how to approach a reference or a real situation. Analyzing and simplifying. Learning how to draw symbols of objects included in your drawing: trees, houses, animals and people.
3) Organizing the toolbox. Selecting the right tools and techniques. Learning how to create abstract compositions. Applying the principles and elements of design to your drawing.
4) Working individually on creating a sketch based on your scene selection. Repeating the process on different setup.
5) Working on a new project. Applying previously learned skills and extra tools and materials to increase the impact of your work.
